Becoming a Scholar
Physician Faculty Scholars is funded by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, which is reviewing new expenditures due to the economic downturn. Pending completion of that review, the Physician Faculty Scholars program is delaying its call for proposals. Please check this website again in August for further information.
There are no differences in the program experience for scholars, whether selected as a RWJF Physician Faculty Scholar or a VA Faculty Scholar.
To be eligible for selection as a RWJF Physician Faculty Scholar, a physician (M.D. or D.O.) must meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the RWJF Physician Faculty Scholar Application Instructions. To be eligible for selection as a VA Faculty scholar, a physician (M.D. or D.O.) must be a first year VA Career Development awardee and meet the eligibility criteria outlined in the VA Faculty Scholar Application Instructions.
There are separate applications for RWJF and VA Faculty scholar candidates, but all candidates have the same selection criteria. All selections are made by the program’s national advisory committee (NAC).
